What’s your differentiator? How you treat employees can be a key differentiator in your business.
I spoke with a friend, a leading Sales Expert + former CEO, who said that people can spend their entire careers searching for their differentiator and it’s essential to find + clarify yours.
3 ways to clarify your differentiator are:
Integrity – Sometimes a brand’s purpose is to be a bad example.
Learn from recent examples of leaders of famous talk shows, powerful children’s charities and human rights museums where there appears to be an integrity gap.
Turn the gap into an integrity map.
– Showing transparency along each step of your company’s reputational journey
– Demonstrating internal actions matching stated values
Different and better skills – What problem-solving skill do you own and do better than anyone in a different way?
Relevant Takeways – What do you do that matters to your audience that’s actionable in solving their problems?
One of mine is the ability to uncover the story of a person’s strengths accurately + on the spot, providing them with relevant and moving takeaways at the end of keynotes.
